Common Dental Emergencies

Sunrise Dental Milwaukee Post1

If your tooth becomes chipped or damaged, come visit us straight away. If you have a chipped or broken tooth, you must act promptly.

You should rinse your mouth with warm salt water.
This will help you to sanitize your mouth while also offering pain relief. Cover the area where the shattered tooth is with a cold compress on the outside of your face. This will help to keep any swelling to a minimum.

For chipped teeth, follow the same steps. Chipped teeth aren’t always as bad as broken teeth.
The dentist may be able to file down any sharp edges on the tooth.

Lost Tooth

If your tooth is knocked out, rinse it rapidly with water or milk (do not scrape, as you don’t want to damage the tooth’s roots or critical parts). Take the top half of it and hold it in your hands.

Keep your hands away from the root. Place the tooth beneath your tongue or between your cheek and gums.

The tooth will remain moist and safe as a result of this. Then, as soon as possible, make your way to the dentist.
